This is Another Woman's Treasure, a play on the popular phrase, 'One man's trash is another man's treasure'. This site is dedicated to thrifting, and trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle by recycling homeware and clothing items. With this website, I want to share the benefits of thrifting, to touch on the impact that fast-fashion can have on our environment. I talk about my own thrift experience, and why I thrift more than shopping new. I show my house and share my best tips for thrifting for the home. Finally, I talking about thrifting clothing and share some of my thrifted outfits.
I know a lot of people thrift now, but a lot of people would never consider it. There is some negative stigma that surrounds thrifting used items, stuff that implies recycled items are trashy or dirty. That is so not true! There are so many amazing opportunities at the thrift store. If you're interesting in thrifting more, or thrifting better, I hope that I can provide some insight as a seasoned thrifter!
My hope is that when you leave this page, you feel inspired to head to your nearest thrift, and find the thrift-item of your wildest dreams. I have been lucky enough to find some amazing pieces at random times. There have been several times where I have randomly gone to the thrift store, and find random items that I treasure forever. Most notably was the time I once got a large vintage gold mirror on a whim-trip to the thrift store, that item is now a staple in my home. You should try thrifting! You'll never know what you find.
Thrifting is a lot cheaper than buying brand new items
You can find unique or discontinued pieces that you can't find anywhere else
Thrifting is a way of recycling and can reduce the amount of things being sent to landfills
You can find homemade made with love pieces at the thrift store
There are some items I don't mention on this site that I also strongly suggest thrifting. I'd like to mention those here, because although I don't thrift them a lot, they are items that I've thrifted in the past!
